Effect of Rotation on Thermoelastic Waves in a Non- Homogeneous Infinite Cylinder

چکیده
In this paper, the problem involving a half-space or an infinite space with a cylindrical or spherical cavity have been subjected to certain boundary conditions. The material is elastic and has an inhomogeneity in the direction perpendicular to the boundary surface for the halfspace problem with a cylindrical or spherical cavity. The system of fundamental equations have been solved by using an implicit finite-difference scheme. A numerical method is used to calculate the temperature, displacement and the components of stresses with time and through the radial of the body. Numerical results have been given and illustrated graphically for each case considered. The results indicate that the effect of rotation and inhomogeneity is very pronounced. Comparison has been made with the results in the absence of rotation. Mathematics subject classification: 74B05

Propagation of S-wave in a non-homogeneous anisotropic incompressible and initially stressed medium under influence of gravity field
Keywords: Incompressible Initial stress Anisotropic S-wave Gravity field a b s t r a c t In this paper, propagation of shear waves in a non-homogeneous anisotropic incompress-ible, gravity field and initially stressed medium is studied. Analytical analysis reveals that the velocity of propagation of the shear waves depends upon the direction of propagation, the anisotropy, gravity field, non-ho...
متن کاملThermoelastic Analysis of Compressor Spool in Turbojet Engine and Redesign it Using Functionally Graded Materials with Opti-mal Coefficients
In this article, an exact analysis of compressors spool in a turbojet engine has been investigated. The spool is modeled as a rotating thick-walled hollow circular cylinder with free-clamp ends. It is subjected to centrifugal load due to its constant rotational speed, uniform internal and external radial loads and arbitrary thermal gradients. The analysis is initially investigated for the homog...
متن کاملThermoelastic Response of a Rotating Hollow Cylinder Based on Generalized Model with Higher Order Derivatives and Phase-Lags
Generalized thermoelastic models have been developed with the aim of eliminating the contradiction in the infinite velocity of heat propagation inherent in the classical dynamical coupled thermoelasticity theory. In these generalized models, the basic equations include thermal relaxation times and they are of hyperbolic type. Furthermore, Tzou established the dual-phase-lag heat conduction theo...
متن کاملReflection of Waves in a Rotating Transversely Isotropic Thermoelastic Half-space Under Initial Stress
The present paper concerns with the effect of initial stress on the propagation of plane waves in a rotating transversely isotropic medium in the context of thermoelasticity theory of GN theory of type-II and III. After solving the governing equations, three waves propagating in the medium are obtained. The fastest among them is a quasi-longitudinal wave. The slowest of them is a thermal wave. ...
